IronCode SSH

Add Connection

Tap the + button on the home screen. Enter host, port, username and choose Password or Private Key authentication.

Connect

Tap any connection card to open an SSH terminal session.

Edit / Delete

Long-press a connection card to see options: Edit, Favorite, Delete.

Groups

Set a group name (e.g. "Production") when adding a connection. Connections are grouped automatically on the All tab.

Favorites & Recent

Tap the star icon to favorite. Use the Favorites and Recent tabs for quick access.

Multi-tab

Tap the + icon in the app bar to open a new tab to another server. Switch tabs by tapping the tab bar. Close a tab with the × button.

Reconnect

Open the ··· menu and tap Reconnect to re-establish the SSH session.

Paste

Open the ··· menu and tap Paste, or use the quick command bar to type and send commands.

Symbol Row

Scroll horizontally to find 32 symbols commonly used in shell commands: - _ = + [ ] { } ( ) | \ / ~ etc.

Ctrl / Alt Modifiers

Tap Ctrl or Alt to activate (sticky). The next key you press sends the modified version. Ctrl highlights in red.

Arrow Keys

Use the arrow cluster on the right side of the keyboard to navigate. Works with Vim, nano, and other TUI apps.

Quick Command Bar

Tap the keyboard icon to toggle a text field where you can type full commands and send them with Enter.

Snippets

Tap the lightning bolt icon to open your saved quick commands. Tap any snippet to run it immediately.

Setup

Go to Settings > AI Assistant. Choose OpenAI or Anthropic, then enter your API key. Your key is stored securely on device only — never sent to our servers.

Generate Commands

In the terminal, tap the sparkle icon to open the AI bar. Type a request in plain language, e.g.: "restart nginx" "find large files over 1GB" "show disk usage" AI generates the shell command with an explanation.

Command Preview

AI commands are never auto-executed. You see a preview with the command, explanation, and Run / Edit / Cancel buttons. Edit the command before running if needed.

Danger Detection

Commands like rm -rf / or DROP TABLE are flagged with a red DANGEROUS badge. Warning-level commands (sudo, git push --force) show a yellow CAUTION badge.

Explain Errors

Tap the ? icon in the AI bar to ask AI to explain the last terminal output. Useful when you see an error you don't understand.

Enable

In the terminal, open the ··· menu and tap Split Pane. A second terminal pane opens side-by-side (landscape) or stacked (portrait).

Switch Focus

Tap the pane header to focus that pane. The active pane has a highlighted border and receives keyboard input.

Change Pane Tab

Tap the ⇄ icon in the pane header to pick a different connection for that pane.

Close Split

Open the ··· menu and tap Close Split Pane, or tap the × in the pane header.

Open

In the terminal, open the ··· menu and tap Docker. Requires Docker to be installed on the remote server.

Containers Tab

Lists all containers (running first). Tap a card to expand: see ports, status, and Start / Stop / Restart / Logs actions.

Compose Tab

Lists all docker-compose projects. Tap a project to expand and see each service with its status. Actions per service: Start / Stop / Restart / Logs. Project-level: Up All / Down / Pull.

Logs

Tap the Logs button on any container or service to view the last 200 log lines. Tap Copy to copy logs to clipboard. Tap Refresh to reload.

Open

In the terminal, open the ··· menu and tap SFTP Browser.

Navigate

Tap folders to enter them. Use the breadcrumb bar at the top to jump to any parent directory. Tap .. to go up.

View Files

Tap a file to preview its contents (text files under 1 MB). Tap back to return to the directory listing.

Open

In the terminal, open the ··· menu and tap Port Tunnels.

Local Tunnel

Forwards a port on your phone to a remote service via SSH. Example: access a remote database on localhost:5432 from your phone.

Remote Tunnel

Forwards a port on the server to a local service. Example: expose a local web server to the remote machine.

Start / Stop

Use the toggle switch on each tunnel card. Active tunnels show a green indicator.

Create Snippets

Go to Settings > Quick Commands. Tap + to add a named command snippet. Example: "Update system" with command "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y".

Reorder

Drag the handle icon on any snippet to reorder the list.

Use in Terminal

Tap the lightning bolt icon on the coding keyboard to open your snippets. Tap any snippet to execute it.

Accent Color

Settings > Appearance. Choose from IronCode Red, Cyan, Green, or Purple. Accent color applies across the entire app.

Terminal Theme

12 built-in themes: IronCode, Dracula, Nord, Solarized, Monokai, Gruvbox, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, One Dark, Cyberpunk, GitHub Dark, Retro.

Font Size

4 sizes for the terminal: Small (11), Medium (13), Large (15), X-Large (17).

Encrypted Storage

All passwords, private keys, passphrases, and API keys are stored in your device's encrypted secure storage. Never stored in plain text.

Biometric Lock

Enable in Settings > Security. Requires Face ID or fingerprint when you return to the app after 30 seconds.

Keep Screen Awake

Enable in Settings > Display to prevent your screen from sleeping during SSH sessions.
